KoolSpan, Inc. Announced the Addition of Larry Levitan to its Board of Directors
BETHESDA, MD - April 27, 2005 KoolSpan announced today the addition of Larry Levitan to its Board of Directors. Larry brings decades of business and technology experience to KoolSpan.
Larry Levitan spent his entire 34-year professional career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) before retiring in 1997. During this period Larry, served as the firm's Chief Technology Officer and had responsibility for some of Accenture's largest client engagements. He also served as Managing Partner of numerous Andersen Consulting entities.
Larry has been a member of Andersen Consulting's Executive Committee, Global Management Council and Partner Income Committee. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee of Andersen Worldwide and an elected member of the Andersen Worldwide Board of Partners. He is currently a member of Accenture's Retired Partner Advisory Council.
Following his retirement in 1998, Larry was nominated by President Clinton to the IRS oversight board, was elected chairman of that board and served in that position until 2002. He also served on the Board of Sequent Computer Systems until it was purchased by IBM.
In addition to serving on KoolSpan's board, Larry also serves on the following corporate boards: Choice Hotels International, Inc., and FBR Mutual Funds.
"We are very excited to have Larry on KoolSpan's corporate board. His experience and guidance will be invaluable as KoolSpan moves forward in the security market," said Tony Fascenda, CEO of KoolSpan.
Larry Levitan was introduced to KoolSpan by The Nobska Group. The Nobska Group provided consulting services to KoolSpan during the early stages of its development. While the consulting agreement between KoolSpan and Nobska Group has ended, the Nobska Group provided valuable assistance to KoolSpan in its early development and commercialization of KoolSpan's technology and products. The partners of Nobska Group were among the first parties other than the founders to understand the potential of Tony Fascenda's technical insights, and helped KoolSpan articulate its value proposition to other parties. Nobska arranged for the first outside capital invested in KoolSpan, including Nobska's own equity investment, and this capital and Nobska's counsel were an important part of the company's early development and commercialization efforts.
