SecureWorld 2005 Attendees Use KoolSpan to Secure Their Wireless Communications During Show

Boston, MA - March 15, 2005 KoolSpan, Inc is again providing its Smart Card-based network security system to the attendees of the SecureWorld Expo, held March 15-16, 2005 in Boston. Show participants equipped with a KoolSpan Key that they can pick up in the registration area of the conference are guaranteed a protected wireless connection to the Internet. SecureWorld Expos are the premier forums for the advancement of information security technologies. KoolSpan also secured communications at the SecureWorld Expo in 2004.

At the same time, the Lock authenticates the Key, assuring the user that the connection is to a trusted network. Both the KoolSpan Key and Lock house a Smart Card. With a Smart Card on each side of the communications link, KoolSpan delivers bi-directional authentication, without exchanging the network's secret keys, and strong security without a server infrastructure. KoolSpan can be deployed in minutes and can easily support a diverse set of users.

Beyond the ability to protect and authenticate users on local Wi-Fi networks being demonstrated at the SecureWorld Expo, KoolSpan can also be used to secure wired local networks and remote users over wire or Wi-Fi. In a single solution KoolSpan accomplishes what normally requires several cumbersome layers of security infrastructure.
