TRUE NORTH SOLUTIONS DEPLOYS KOOLSPAN TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION LOCK-AND-KEY ENCRYPTION FOR ENHANCED VOICE AND REMOTE ACCESS CONTROL?@

Deployment enables security best practices leader the ability to conduct business remotely using Layer 2 Smart Card-to-Smart Card Encryption Architecture without draining IT bandwidth or resources.

Bethesda, Md., Dec. 20, 2005---KoolSpan, Inc., the leading provider of plug-and-play security solutions that bridge networks, users, and devices, today announced that True North Solutions, the premier information security solutions provider in North America dedicated to providing innovated and integrated solutions, will deploy KoolSpan's leading two-factor authentication technology. The pilot phase of the deployment, launched earlier this year, equipped select True North executives with the use of KoolSpan's sophisticated Lock-and-Key solution enabling true LAN-peer connections and native application access over a secure Layer 2 Ethernet bridge.

"We were impressed with KoolSpan's strong security architecture implemented in a surprisingly easy to use and deploy solution. I was first attracted to the solution's use of paired Smart Cards which elegantly manages network keys, but was sold after our IT team tested the system and experienced tangible operational benefits," said True North Solutions Chief Executive Officer Bobby Christian.  Under the agreement, True North will expand its license for employees in the company's remote office locations.

"Once we set up the keys and the back end it worked as promised," said True North IT Manager Wesley Ward. "Getting everyone set up was really easy and you don't have to change any existing infrastructure. We configured the Locks and Keys, and everything worked smoothly. It actually deployed as promised and to see that is refreshing."

Using a Smart Card to Smart Card architecture, SecureEdge's per packet 256-bit AES Ethernet encryption protects sensitive information without impacting bandwidth utilization or performance. SecurEdge provides an ultra-secure and consistent way for end users inside and outside of the firewall to access their company's private network. Users may connect from anywhere over wired or wireless networks, enabling IT Managers to install, configure and support one access method for a variety of networks while dramatically simplifying the end user's experience.

"Best practices leaders like True North are on the forefront of identifying and adopting some of the most effective and scalable security solutions on the market," said KoolSpan Chief Executive Officer Tony Fascenda. "We look forward to expanding our deployment, and working with True North to arm more organizations with our ultra secure two-factor authentication solutions that remove the need for network and application-specific security as we know it."

From data centers to enterprises, KoolSpan's two-factor authentication solutions can be used to secure VoIP communications, provide protected remote access without a VPN, secure Wi-Fi in offices and public hotspots, and secure Ethernet for multi-site bridging or backbone encryption across private or public networks.
